U.S. Senate Candidate Karishma Manzur’s Statement on the Deaths of Two U.S. Service Members and the Escalation of the U.S.-Israel War in the Middle East

EXETER, NH (July 19, 2026)

Tragically, at least two more American service members were killed in Jordan over the weekend. They now join 14 other service members who have lost their lives in this unnecessary and illegal war.

It is heartbreaking to think about the pain their loved ones are enduring.

Khamenei, Trump, and Netanyahu must stop the ongoing death and destruction that has now engulfed much of the Middle East.

The war with Iran should never have been started. It was sold on lies, and it continues on lies.

And what has been achieved?

Billions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer funds have been spent while the human cost continues to rise. At least 16 U.S. service members have been killed and more than 430 have been injured. Nearly 3,500 Iranians have been killed, and more than 26,500 have been injured. And nearly 4,300 Lebanese have been killed with more than 12,000 injured.

Trump has no clear exit strategy. And Trump has no ceasefire plan that will be acceptable to Netanyahu.

US foreign policy must be based on national security and national interest, and not dictated by war profiteering or a foreign government.

It is absolutely criminal that U.S. service members are being killed and injured as Trump serves Netanyahu and commits treason.

As long as the U.S. Congress fails to uphold its constitutional responsibilities to stop this war, it is failing to protect American service members from the arrogance and ignorance of a failed presidency.
