U.S. Senate Candidate Karishma Manzur’s Statement on Eliminating U.S. Military Aid to Israel
Manzur supports Rep’s Thomas Massie’s amendment to H.R. 8595, the National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2027, to eliminate U.S. military funding for Israel provided through that legislation.
“For too long, U.S. taxpayers have funded military assistance to the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu despite evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
I support enforcing existing U.S. laws, including the Leahy Law and Section 502B of the Foreign Assistance Act, which prohibit security assistance to foreign entities responsible for gross human rights violations. As a U.S. Senator, I will ensure that American military aid complies with our laws and reflects our values.
As the Netanyahu government is not meeting legal and human rights standards, I support legislation introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie to eliminate U.S. military funding for Israel.
Our federal laws are clear. No U.S. military assistance of any category to Israel or any foreign entity violating human rights.
This must be part of a broader commitment to end endless conflicts that are morally reprehensible, fiscally irresponsible, and plain illegal. We must stop spending billions of our tax dollars to fuel overseas wars and crimes against humanity, and instead, we must invest in our communities: funding public schools, fixing roads and bridges, and providing universal healthcare for all.”
