Surging in the New UNH Poll, U.S. Senate Candidate Karishma Manzur Launches New Television Ad

EXETER, N.H.— U.S. Senate candidate Karishma Manzur today released a new television ad as a new University of New Hampshire poll shows her rapidly closing the gap in New Hampshire’s Democratic Senate primary.

The new poll finds Manzur with 34 percent support among likely Democratic primary voters, up from 18 percent in April. Congressman Chris Pappas now leads with 47 percent, down from 61 percent in April, while 18 percent of voters remain undecided

In four months, Manzur has gained 16 points and cut Pappas’s lead from 43 points to 13. UNH Survey Center Director Andy Smith said the grassroots campaign’s door-to-door organizing is working and described the race as “up in the air.”

As the campaign builds on that momentum in the final stretch of the primary, its latest ad makes a direct appeal to voters focused on health care, housing, and the pressures facing New Hampshire families.

“You deserve a senator who will fight for your health care, your housing, and your family,” Manzur says. “Together, we can build a future where every American has a fair shot.”

Appearing statewide on Connected TV, the ad reinforces the central message of Manzur’s campaign: New Hampshire deserves a senator who understands the challenges facing working families and will stand up to the status quo—the political and corporate interests that have prevented meaningful change.
