Statement from Dr Karishma Manzur

Over the last 12 months, I have traveled more than 38,000 miles across New Hampshire to meet thousands of Granite Staters, from Lancaster to Seabrook.

I met with you in diners, marched with you in parades, and listened to you at town halls across the state.

I heard from seniors who can barely afford their medicine. I heard from veterans unable to access the mental health care they need. I heard from parents and caregivers stretched thin. I heard from people exhausted from working multiple jobs just to make ends meet. I heard from small-business owners struggling with rising costs and trying to keep their doors open. And I heard from young people concerned about underfunded public education and a lack of job opportunities.

These struggles continue while our government spends on endless wars, gives tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy, and allows our national debt to climb above $40 trillion.

That was true yesterday, and it remains true today.

Every one of your stories powered this movement to improve people’s lives.

The people of New Hampshire deserve Medicare for All, livable wages, affordable housing, universal childcare, Social Security benefits people can live on, and high-quality public education. And we all believe in ending endless wars and protecting our planet for future generations.

That is why our movement continues: to stop the insanity, stand up for working people, and improve people’s lives. 

You matter. Your families matter. And your communities matter.

I will continue to raise your voices, highlight commonsense solutions, and give all of us hope that, through our collective efforts, we can build a better future and improve people’s lives.
