U.S. Senate Candidate Karishma Manzur Calls on Sen. Chuck Schumer to Resign

EXETER, NH (November 14, 2025) – This week, a bloc of eight democratic and independent senators voted to break the government shutdown without securing any guarantees for healthcare or other benefits. This break occurred under the watch of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Below is U.S. Senate Candidate Karishma’s Statement, calling for Sen. Schumer’s resignation:

Trump and the GOP have made it clear they don’t care about the needs of the American people. Instead of addressing healthcare, food, and basic needs, they seek to maximize suffering for the many so that the richest few can profit from it.

The government shutdown ended not in success for Democrats, but in surrender. 

A small group of Democrats saved Republicans from taking responsibility for choosing billionaires over working families, and gave them another shot at stripping millions of their healthcare. 

This is not a strategic blunder. It was a moral failure that lies firmly on Sen. Chuck Schumer’s shoulders. Sen. Schumer appears to be ruled by fear and is either unwilling or unable to stand up for the American people.

Sen. Schumer must step down.

Americans deserve leaders who fight for what's right, not those who buckle under pressure. Sen Schumer failed not just his party, but the people. He must resign.
