Southern NH Indivisible Endorses Karishma Manzur for U.S. Senate Grassroots organization cites immigrant protections and opposition to Trump agenda in endorsement decision.

Manchester, NH — Southern NH Indivisible announced its endorsement of Karishma Manzur, a Democrat running for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.

Southern NH Indivisible (SNHI) invited all Democratic candidates for New Hampshire’s open Senate seat to participate in public listening sessions with members and the broader community. Karishma Manzur and Jared Sullivan participated; however, Sullivan has since dropped out of the race. Chris Pappas did not participate. Following the sessions, active Southern NH Indivisible members selected Manzur through a ranked-choice voting process based on the organization’s endorsement criteria.

“We are proud to support Karishma Manzur in her campaign to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate,” said Mark Roddy, a member of the SNHI leadership team. “We need a leader who works for us, not billionaires and special interest groups. Karishma is clear that she cannot be bought.”

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of Southern NH Indivisible, one of the most respected grassroots organizations in New Hampshire,” said Manzur. “From organizing against the ICE detention center in Merrimack to mobilizing at No Kings rallies, SNHI has shown what real people-powered resistance looks like in the face of Trump’s authoritarian movement. At a time when too many Democratic leaders are failing to meet the moment, I look forward to partnering with SNHI to rebuild the NH Democratic Party from the ground up into a party that is bold, progressive, and accountable to working people, not political insiders.”

Southern NH Indivisible said Manzur stood out for her commitment to the ideals that bring our Indivisible group together: equity, diversity, justice, compassion, and inclusion, as well as her focus on how public policy impacts everyday people and families.

“Karishma has a passion for helping all people thrive, a history of fighting for the most vulnerable members of our community, and a record of working for peace and diplomacy around the world,” said Kim Tate-Brown, a member of the SNHI leadership team. “We’ve been impressed with her depth of knowledge about the important domestic and international issues facing our country. She also understands how public policy impacts real people’s lives.”

“We are living in a dangerous political moment,” said Ken Barnes, a member of the Southern NH Indivisible leadership team. “The Trump administration’s harmful agenda is terrorizing immigrant communities with armed and masked ICE and CBP agents, threatening the financial well-being of working families, attacking voting rights, and emboldening racists and bigots across this country. New Hampshire needs a Senator who will steadfastly confront the would-be autocrats, push back against their un-American policies, and fight relentlessly to build a government that supports hard-working families.”

Southern NH Indivisible said it is certain that Karishma Manzur has the vision and leadership needed to build the kind of broad coalition necessary to win and effectively challenge authoritarianism and extremism.

Southern NH Indivisible’s endorsement criteria align with national Indivisible guidance, emphasizing support for candidates who will fight back against authoritarianism, refuse to take contributions from Fascism Funders, and use the power of a congressional majority to investigate and prosecute the Trump regime’s abuses and corruption.
